Email to Palmers

Might as well document this email I sent to the Palmers since I just started the blog. A recap of the year.

Well, I haven't seen or spoke to you guys since March so I am guessing you would appreciate an update on what I've been up to. I didn't pass the CFA L2 in June. Whew, got that out of the way (not the test, just the news). I'll be trying again this June. Other than that, it has been a pretty fun year. I definitely had the best year in terms of seeing concerts, which is one of my favorite things to do. Highlights: I went to the Blues and Brews festival in Telluride in Sept (great bands, microbrews, weather, surroundings, and people - truly a refreshing get-a-way), Dave Matthews at Red Rocks, REM, U2, Widespread Panic (multiple shows at two great venues - with Jeff too). Other than that I tried to get outside to bike, hike, play b-ball, and ski. I am not playing as much golf because of these other interests. I hope to learn how to play guitar and the conga this coming year. I still have the same job and am still single. Hopefully the latter will change next year.

As for trips, I went to Maine for a friend's wedding in Sept and stretched that out to hang out with the family at the same time. Jeff and I went to Albuquerque for Thanksgiving to spend time with relatives on the Sweeney side of the family which was fun. As usual, I combined business with pleasure on trips to NYC (then went to see the family) and Portfolio, OR (a friend lives there - I am really growing fond of the Pac NW). Some of the family (Patels and Dad) came out to see Jeff and I in Colorado in August which was the first family to visit me since I moved here three years ago (other than you). In mid-Feb of 2006 I am stopping over at the South Island of New Zealand for four days on my way to Sydney to vacation and see my old roommate for a week and a half. He is moving there for six months (maybe longer) while I rent his Denver digs at a reduced rate. That's why I just moved back. It is a very cool place to live - he is going to have to beat me over the head to move out when he gets back. Obviously, I am very excited about my first real international travel (beyond Cancun), and don’t worry, I’ll send some pictures.
